HUGE is an international partnership created in Sydney and Shanghai by Samuel Tsang and Victor Njo, after several years of collaborating in a large Australian commercial firm in both Australia and China. The office has the skills, the knowledge and expertise of a large commercial firm combined with a more high-end and personalized boutique style approach in creating architecture. HUGE has a unique approach to problem solving, where quality is the main objective. Our core focus is on practicing contemporary urbanism, architecture and interior design. The colourful and diverse backgrounds of the HUGE partners created a platform which not only involves architecture, but amongst other things, creating events such as the Electrograss Stage at the JZ Music Festival and the 2009 NYE Lost Heaven Electrograss Music Festival in Shanghai. Additional activities of the company, such as Branding, Computer Graphics (CG) and Product Design are part of this unique HUGE mix of holistic and lateral approach to design. HUGE also has a reach to various other dimensions by collaborating with creative entities from the industries of fashion, graphic design, photography, advertising, music, video and arts. With a design attitude deeply rooted in the Dutch and Australian design methodology, the aim is to create innovative and attractive solutions for clients, consumers and users. The studio puts an emphasis on preparation and analysis, followed by creating, reviewing and improving. The leading architects always outline the direction of every concept for each project. During the design process a flat hierarchy is maintained and open platform design discussions are encouraged between senior and junior architects and designers. This method of working educates the junior staff and simultaneously forces the senior staff members to think more creatively and be more open-minded when converting creative ideas into attractive, yet buildable and functional architecture. Integrity and objectivity are key components in the creations made by HUGE. These are the building blocks of the design philosophy. Although the office solely pursues the practice of contemporary architecture there is no attachment to a certain style or aesthetic, as HUGE believes one single aesthetic is a limitation in finding the best suitable solution for any given design brief. 我们是HUGE (巨大)
